1. Overview

VitalModo is an AI health information tool. We take your privacy seriously — particularly because health information is among the most sensitive personal data that exists. This policy explains what data we collect, what we do not collect, and how we handle the information you share with Dr. Vital.

2. We do not store your health conversations

VitalModo does not store, log, or retain your conversations with Dr. Vital. When you close your browser session, your chat is gone. We have no record of what you asked or what Dr. Vital said.

This is an intentional design decision, not a limitation. Health conversations are sensitive. Storing them creates privacy risk. We chose not to.

As a result, VitalModo does not require you to create an account, provide your name, or share any personal information to use Dr. Vital.

3. Image data

If you upload an image (for example, a photo of a skin condition or wound), that image is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. VitalModo does not store the image. Anthropic's handling of image data is governed by their privacy policy (see Section 5 below).

4. Technical data we may collect

Like most websites, our server logs may collect standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. This data is used only for security, rate limiting, and operational purposes. It is not linked to your health conversations and is not shared with third parties for marketing.

5. Anthropic API

Dr. Vital's responses are generated by Claude, an AI developed by Anthropic. Your messages are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy. By using VitalModo, you acknowledge that your messages are processed by Anthropic.

6. Cookies

VitalModo uses a small number of browser storage items:

vitalmodo_lang — stores your language preference in local storage. This stays on your device.
vitalmodo_disclaimer_dismissed — stores whether you have dismissed the disclaimer banner in session storage. Cleared when you close your browser.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Children

VitalModo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through our service, please contact us.

8. Your rights — NZ, EU, and African users

New Zealand: VitalModo operates in compliance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Because we do not store your health conversations, there is limited personal data for you to request access to or correction of. For technical log data, contact us at the email below.

European Union: We are aware of GDPR requirements. We have designed VitalModo to minimise data collection (data minimisation principle). If you are an EU resident with a privacy concern, contact us.

African users:We are aware that many African countries have enacted or are developing data protection frameworks (including Kenya's Data Protection Act, South Africa's POPIA, and Nigeria's NDPA). Our no-storage design means we hold minimal data about our users globally.

We may update this policy as our service evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
